An industry leader in specialized youth sports training now has a presence in Fayetteville.

The Parisi Speed School will have a home at the AAO P. Whitaker Sports Center on Burr Oak Drive near the Washington County Fairgrounds.

Parisi is a national brand with more than 65 franchises in 28 states training half a million athletes, from 7 years old all the way to the pros.

The school specializes in improving the performance skills of athletes in all sports.

“It’s been a great system,” said Mike Trexler, who will head up the Fayetteville school.

The school has been operating under a “soft” opening for the past month. It will be housed within the 43,000-SF Whitaker Center, an impressive-looking expansion of AAO’s original facility.

Trexler said the school would operate full speed starting Nov. 1.

“We’ve got about 150 athletes ready to start,” he said. “Our goal is 200 by the time we get going into November.”

The membership fee is $99 per month and with that, a student can participate in up to six training sessions per week. The facility offers classes from 4-8 p.m., with sessions running every hour.
