Plans for a 40,000-SF inpatient hospice facility at Legacy Village in Bentonville got the go-ahead from city planners at their meeting Sept. 20.

Engineering Design Associates presented the large-scale development plans for the 24-bed Circle of Life Hospice Home to be built at 1201 N.E. Legacy Parkway.

The Arkansas Health Services Permit Commission in Little Rock approved the project on Sept. 13.

Circle of Life Hospice, a nonprofit based in Springdale, has a temporary eight-bed facility at Legacy Village that will serve until the new one is completed in March 2013, according to the hospice website. It also operates the Earlene Howard Hospice Home in Springdale.

The Legacy Village retirement community, which includes homes and assisted-living facilities, was developed by the nonprofit Northwest Arkansas Senior Services Inc. The 48-acre campus is directly across Northeast J Street from the entrance to the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art.
