Flintco Sweeps Safety Awards
Flintco Constructive Solutions was honored recently with national construction safety awards by both major national construction industry organizations.
The Associated General Contractors of America recognized Flintco as having the best safety program in the nation at its annual conference in March.
In February, the Associated Builders and Contractors named Flintco No. 1 in safety in the nation.
Flintco, founded in 1908, has headquarters in Tulsa and eight division offices across the Southwest, one of them in Springdale.
“Safety is the No. 1 priority in our company and that’s evident by these awards,” said Troy Musson, the director of business development for the Springdale office. “That translates everywhere, from the very top to where the boots are in the mud.”
The Springdale division, with approximately 48 employees according to Musson, has not had a lost-time accident in eight years.
The division has put in place $687,093,118 since that date, which reflects the total of all actual monthly billings by the Springdale office since April 13, 2003.
The AGC represents more than 32,000 construction companies and has recognized Flintco as a top-three company seven times.
A key reason for the AGC award, Musson said, was Flintco’s development of a mobile safety application.
Working in a partnership with Emerge Mobile Tech, Flintco developed an application that delivers incident response information to safety team members.
Flintco is not receiving compensation for its role in the development of the application.
“If there’s an accident and that adrenaline kicks in, people respond differently,” Musson said. “What this app does is walk managers and people through our crisis management program. It has phone numbers to call, puts the plan in place as far as who to contact and what steps to take.”
