Olive Garden Tops Restaurant Sales List
The Olive Garden Italian Restaurant, located on North Mall Ave., in Fayetteville, produced more revenue in fiscal year 2010 than any other restaurant in the city according to data provided by the Fayetteville Advertising & Promotions Commission.
The restaurant totaled $3.6 million in sales from December 1, 2009 through November 30, 2010. That total reflects a slight increase (2.7 percent) from the previous fiscal year.
Chartwells Dining, the University of Arkansas cafeteria, with $4.23 million in revenue, was intentionally excluded from the top 10 list. Golden Corral dropped five percent from the previous year but still produced $3.1 million in revenue and ranked third. Red Lobster, with $2.8 million, ranked fourth.
Shogun Japanese Steak & Sushi had the highest jump in revenue among the top 10, up 6.5 percent to $2.58 million.
Fayetteville’s top 10 restaurants combined to produce $28.2 million in revenue in fiscal year 2010. The A&P Commission collects a 1 percent tax on prepared foods and non-alcoholic beverages.
