The top three radio stations in the Northwest Arkansas market are operated by Clear Channel Communications Inc. of San Antonio, according to the most recent Arbitron Inc. ratings.

The top station, KKIX-FM, 103.9 “KIX 104” has been the top-rated radio station in Northwest Arkansas for nearly 25 years.

The No. 2 and No. 3 stations frequently alternate between KEZA-FM, “Magic” 107.9 and its sister station, KIGL-FM, 93.3 “The Eagle.”

The Eagle won out in both the spring and fall ratings, with a 50 percent increase in its share of the 12-year-old-and-older audience from year-to-year.

KEZA’s share percentage was down almost 4 percent, so it landed as the No. 4 station in the market.

Atlanta-based Cumulus Broadcasting Inc.’s KMCK-FM, “Power” 105.7, climbed to No. 3.

KFAY-AM, 1030 and KKEG-FM, 98.3 “The Keg,” both owned by Cumulus, tied for No. 10.

Arbitron rates radio stations in the Northwest Arkansas market twice annually – in the spring and fall.

The Business Journal compares annual data because it’s more telling than seasonal shifts.

The data are the most recent available for commercial radio stations.
