One To Watch: Nanomech
At the beginning of each year, Talk Business spotlights a company with major Arkansas operations that is poised to have a huge impact on the future economic landscape.
Our criteria is that the company is poised to make a major contribution to the state’s business landscape in a transformative manner.
This year, our "One To Watch" award winner goes to Springdale-based NanoMech.
NanoMech is a firm that sprouted from research taking place at the University of Arkansas in the field of nanotechnology, a microscopic science that involves working with materials the size of one-ten-thousandth of a red blood cell.
The company’s products, which can reduce friction and extend the life of tools and equipment, are already revolutionizing the construction and manufacturing industries. Its efforts may lead to medical breakthroughs and even more economic advancements.
Founded in 2002, the company employs 30 currently and already has relationships with some of the world’s most important corporations, including General Electric, Caterpillar, Champion, Black & Decker and others.
NanoMech’s journey is a success story in the making, as Talk Business contributor Steve Brawner so artfully describes in his feature article in the latest edition of our reshaped annual magazine, Talk Business & Politics.
