Arkansas Supreme Court associate justice Robert L. Brown has written a book examining pivotal moments in the tenures of Arkansas’ 10 post-war governors.

r

“Defining Moments: Historic Decisions by Arkansas Governors from McMath through Huckabee” was published by the University of Arkansas Press, and stretches from Sid McMath to Mike Huckabee. Brown said in a press release he was inspired by John F. Kennedy’s “Profiles in Courage,” and deemed his own work a “labor of love.”

r

Mack McLarty, who served as White House chief of staff for President Clinton, wrote the book’s foreword.

r

“With these profiles and vignettes, Justice Brown has assembled a lesson-book on leadership, and the difficulties of decision-making in the moments it matters most,” McLarty said in the press release.

r

Brown will discuss his book and sign copies at the Clinton School of Public Service in Little Rock at noon on Dec. 1, among other times.
