No Kidding ? ATA President Files For Bankruptcy
Lane Kidd, president of the Arkansas Trucking Association, and his wife, Jennifer Matthews Kidd, founder of Matthews Publishing Group, recently filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy.
According to the Little Rock couple’s bankruptcy schedule, they have assets of $1.15 million and owe $2.5 million to 28 creditors.
Most of the financial strain came from what Lane Kidd described as an ill-timed spec house in the Heights. Riverside Bank of Sparkman (Dallas County) filed for foreclosure on the property on July 7. Riverside holds a secured claim of about $1.57 million on the property, which is valued in the bankruptcy at $1.02 million.
The Kidd family lived in the house from April 2008 to June 30, according to the filing, but Lane Kidd said that was an attempt to make the house more marketable.
