WACO Title Co. of Springdale has acquired its only competitor left in McDonald County, Mo.

As of July 1, WACO owned the assets and operations of McDonald County Title & Escrow Inc. The two employees of the company became employees of WACO. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

WACO already owned Elk River Abstract & Title Co. of Pineville, Mo. Elk River Abstract will be rebranded as McDonald County Title & Escrow, and operations will be consolidated into the McDonald County Title & Escrow Building in Pineville.

During the past five years, WACO has acquired Madison County Abstract Co. in Huntsville, Mosley Abstract & Title Insurance Co. in Fort Smith and Conway Title Services & Escrow Inc. in Conway, Lincoln Land Title Co. of Springfield, Mo., and the other two in Pineville.

Those companies still operate under their respective names.

WACO opened an office in Little Rock last year. Blake Hanby, president and CEO, said business in central Arkansas is going well and expects to grow the Little Rock market.

“We are excited to combine the teams at Elk River Abstract and McDonald County Title,” Hanby said. “With these combined operations, together with our Lincoln Land Title Co. operations in Springfield, Ozark, Republic and Branson, Missouri, we are seeking to be recognized as the most professional provider of title insurance products and closing services in Southwest Missouri.”
