Officials at John Brown University in Siloam Springs unveiled plans for an $8 million construction project in early August. JBU is seeking to fund a $3 million endowment for future maintenance and other costs related to the building.

The two-story building will be 40,000 SF and will be the new engineering and construction management facility.

Nabholz Construction Corp. of Rogers is the general contractor.

Hastings and Chivetta Architects Inc. of St. Louis is the architect on the building.

Bidding will be done in two phases. Phase I will include all the dirt work, civil engineering and site prep, and will wrap up in September. Phase II will include more finish work and other structural components, and should wrap up in October.

Funding for the building came from an anonymous donor with a lead gift of $8 million.

The building is slated for an August 2011 completion.
