Springdale Man May Soon Be a Star
Reality TV fans in Northwest Arkansas can spend the summer rooting for one of their own.
That’s because Springdale’s Dan Faires, in case you haven’t heard, will participate on HGTV‘s “Design Star.” The program, which had its fifth-season debut on June 13, features a dozen interior designers, contractors, stylists, architects and artists who “navigate innovative design challenges” in an effort to win an HGTV show of their own.
According to HGTV’s Web site, Faires’ love for construction began when he and his father repaired various parts of their century-old home. Faires, 26, later earned a degree in biology at the University of Arkansas, but joined a construction crew in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
Faires defines his style as “rustic” and believes that “design should always incorporate rustic elements because it adds texture and warmth to every space.”
