Springdale’s Hannover House Makes Waves in Hollywood
Springdale’s Hannover House, the film and video distribution division of the Las Vegas-based Target Development Group Inc., is busy snapping up (and releasing) potentially valuable entertainment properties.
In May comes “The Wild Hunt,” an action-thriller that won the Audience Award at the 2010 Slamdance Film Festival. Hannover House has also acquired rights to “Racing Dreams.” It was named best documentary at the 2009 Tribeca Film Festival and also hits theaters next month.
On July 2, Hannover House hopes audiences flock to “Twelve,” a teen thriller staring Emma Roberts and Chace Crawford and directed by veteran filmmaker Joel Schumacher.
Next comes the romantic comedy “happythankyoumoreplease.” The film was written and directed by Josh Radnor of “How I Met Your Mother” fame, who also stars. A directorial debut, it won the Audience Award at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival. It opens Aug. 27 in select cities before expanding to more than two dozen markets the following weekend.
Earlier this year the group acquired USA publishing and motion picture development rights to author Frank Nappi’s new suspense-thriller novel, “Nobody Has To Know,” which Hannover House plans to release in July.
Until recently Hannover House has mostly been involved with DVD distribution. It has been in the publishing business since 2002.
