Realtors report includes interesting detail about area market

The number of homes sold in Crawford and Sebastian counties might be down for the year, but the average prices are up and the top prices for a home sold in each county is  significantly higher in 2008. (The City Wire previously posted a broad report on area home sales.)

However, there were 493 homes sold in Crawford County for the first nine months of 2008, down 19.1 percent from the same period in 2007. In Sebastian County, 1,093 homes were sold for the year, a dip of 9.82 percent compared to the 2007 period.

The following is price and other information — supplied by the Arkansas Realtors Association — for home sales activity in the two counties.

Highest price for a home sold, 2008: $700,000 (6,227 square feet)
