College Avenue Building Sold

Thanks to an outside investor an eyesore will soon be removed from College Avenue.

Lee Ward, owner of Realty Concepts of Fayetteville, recently sold the partially burnt former Gonzales Mexican Restaurant at 704 N. College Ave. to “a speculative investor outside of the market” for a mere $259,000. Ward said he estimates the investor, who has already started clean-up work on the building and surrounding property, plans to invest an additional $150,000 to $200,000 to get the building into usable form.

Plans for the use of the building have not been solidified.
