USA Truck Opens Operations Center
USA Truck Inc. of Van Buren has opened its newest regional operations center in Spartanburg, S.C.
The trucking firm said the new facility will provide an operational base for its short- to medium-haul dry van truckload services in the southeastern United States.
The Spartanburg operations center is the third regional operations center in USA Truck’s regional freight division, which includes centers in Van Buren and Butler Township, Ohio.
“This new operations center expands our long-term revenue growth prospects through deeper regional market penetration, and also provides driver employee development facilities for our various service offerings throughout the continental United States, Mexico and Eastern Canada,” said Robert Powell, chairman and CEO.
USA Truck started its regional freight division in 2004. The division now comprises more than 12 percent of USA Truck’s tractor fleet.
By the end of 2007, Powell said he expects the division to comprise 15 percent of the total fleet, with 426 tractors and $54 million in base revenue.
The Spartanburg operations center sits on a leased 12-acre facility at the strategic intersection of Interstate 85 and Interstate 26.
The facility includes 6,000 SF of office space, 16,000 SF of driver training space and a five-bay maintenance facility.
