CBS affiliate, KFSM-TV, Channel 5, hired Daren Bobb as a co-anchor for its evening newscasts in early November.
Bobb will sit at the Fort Smith news desk, and Bridget Schultz will continue to co-anchor from her chair in Fayetteville.
Bobb has worked for KFSM before. He left the station as an executive producer in 2000, and returns to television from a position as the managing editor of Fort Smith’s Clear Channel Communications’ radio stations.
Morning newscasts will also be co-anchored. As of mid-November, Ashley Ketz, a reporter and recent graduate from the University of Arkansas, will anchor from Fayetteville.
And Ashley Beck, a reporter who has been acting as an interim anchor, has officially been promoted to the Fort Smith anchor.
KFSM is owned by The New York Times Co., which put the station and eight other television stations, up for sale in September.
