Legacy National Bank is gearing up to break ground on what will be its third branch in Springdale.
The location on S. Thompson, across from Kent Dobbs Hyundai, was home to a spa retailer at one time, but the building has been dismantled over the last several months.
Bankers said they hope to start building in January or February.
Legacy also recently opened a loan production office on Joyce Boulevard in Fayetteville, headed by Gary Garton, senior vice president of commercial lending and former lender with The Bank of Fayetteville. The site is the bank’s “first facility in Fayetteville,” indicating that principals may be looking to go farther south into Washington County someday.
Legacy had assets of $163 million as of June 30 and has about 1.3 percent of deposits in Washington County.
