MANA Makes Benton County Market Move
Medical Associates of Northwest Arkansas of Fayetteville opened its first Benton County clinic on July 3.
The 6,047-SF office, located in Bentonville’s Fountain Plaza, is actually two clinics: a general practice clinic, which will do basic lab work and pulmonary testing; and a Breast Center of Northwest Arkansas clinic, which will offer breast screening among other things.
Larry Shackelford, CEO of MANA, said the group purchased an 18,000-SF building in Fountain Plaza earlier this year with the intent to open the clinics.
The group is seeing more Washington County residents working in Benton County, and vice versa, he said, so the new clinics fit in naturally with MANA’s goals.
“Expanding MANA specialty service locations provides our patients with more flexibility in their medical care to meet the demands of their hectic schedules that reach across the entire geographic area,” Shackelford said in an e-mailed statement.
MANA’s 13 physician-owned clinics had 213,000 patient visits in 2005. About 30,000 of those were Benton County residents.
The company oversees operation for about 75 physicians and about 400 non-physician employees. The group’s total gross revenue in 2005 was $70 million, Shackelford said.
