Hannover House of Fayetteville has worked out a deal with Wal-Mart Stores Inc. to stock the DVD “22 Straight: The Story of the Greatest Run in Razorback Football History” at its stores within 100 miles of Fayetteville.

If sales go well, Wal-Mart will consider distributing it through stores farther from the University of Arkansas, Eric Parkinson, president of Hannover House, said via e-mail.

The DVD is being released to retailers nationwide on Aug. 1.

Jim Lindsey funded the mass-market production of the DVD in 2004. It’s about the Arkansas Razorbacks football team’s 22-game winning streak from 1963 to 1966.

Lindsey, the Fayetteville real estate mogul, was a wingback for the Razorbacks on the 1964 national championship team.

The documentary was written and produced by Larry Foley, a broadcast journalism professor at the UA.

The camerawork was by Jim Borden of Fayetteville. Narration was by Charlie Jones, a former national NBC sportscaster.

Parkinson said Hannover House expects to sell about 30,000 of the “22 Straight” DVDs at $15 each.

Other retailers that have expressed an interest in selling it are Hastings, Harps, Blockbuster and Movie Gallery, in addition to specialty shops that sell Razorback items.
