Greg Langham is proof that a local doesnt have to travel far to land a great career and fly high.

Raised in Goshen, Langham always had an interest in computers. So he attended the University of Arkansas where he earned his bachelors in computer systems engineering. He graduated in 1995. While at the UA, one of his jobs was at Drake Field where he developed an interest in aviation. Langham got his pilots license in 1990.

His first real job was at United Bank, where he started as a pinch hitter in 1991. Soon after, the UB team realized Langham was perfect to help them switch to new computer systems. And soon after that, they asked him to also be the company pilot.

Langham is now an employee of United Bilt Homes, a subsidiary of the holding company that also owns UB. Hes a member of the United Bilt board and oversees the entire IT team.

Building the companys IT department from scratch and seeing it hum smoothly has been the best part of his career so far, Langham said. And the opportunity to fly dosent hurt either.

Langhams advice to up-and-comers? Work hard and put in the time it takes to make a difference early on. Youve got to make your opportunity its not going to fall in your lap.
