The Sound Ceases Publication

Betsy Finocchi, publisher of The Sound, sent an e-mail to several contacts on April 5 saying the weekly tabloid would cease publication.
“I’m very sorry to have to announce that there is no plan at this time to resume production of The Sound alt-newsweekly,” she wrote, adding that financial concerns had led to her decision.
Finocchi founded All About Town seven years ago. She converted the fortnightly entertainment newspaper to a weekly and changed the name to The Sound on Jan. 11.
The Fayetteville-based publication was available at several businesses for free.
