Garfield?s Slated For Fayetteville Mall
Mike Denney plans to open a Garfield’s Restaurant and Pub in November in 5,000 SF of space in Fayetteville’s Northwest Arkansas Mall. The location, along with an adjacent 5,743 SF, was previously home to Luby’s Cafeteria, which closed in September after 14 years in business.
The casual dining, family oriented restaurant will seat 194 diners. With a full bar, Garfield’s will be the first restaurant in the mall to sell liquor. Renovation work will require adding a new door to the east side of the mall.
Denny operates Garfield’s franchise restaurants in Fort Smith and Muskogee, Okla. Garfield’s has a corporate store in Pine Bluff’s Pines Mall, which is the only other Garfield’s in Arkansas. The Fayetteville location will officially be operated by GRP of Fayetteville. Garfield’s is owned by Eateries Inc. of Edmond, Okla.
Denny plans to hire more than 130 employees.
Bridget Elkins, marketing manager for the Northwest Arkansas Mall, said the remaining Luby’s space is still for lease.
Garfield’s will be open seven days a week. Entrees range in price from $5 to $15.
Eateries Inc. owns, operates, franchises and licenses 57 restaurants in 20 states under the names Garfield’s, Garcia’s Mexican Restaurant and Pepperoni Grill.
