Arland Hill isn’t just a chiropractor. He’s also a nutrition specialist. He doesn’t want to simply align your back. He also wants to align your chemical make up.
Hill has opened Northwest Arkansas Natural Medicine in Bentonville with a plan to treat patients for nutrition issues that may cause physical problems and to help them with chiropractic needs at the same time.
“We’re a chiropractic and clinical nutrition practice,” Hill said. “Basically, what that means is that we use nutricuticals, which are vitamins and minerals, like people normally use pharmaceuticals.”
Hill said he first does a complete and comprehensive physical on his patients and determines if they need any diagnostic lab tests. Then he recommends a nutrient plan to address the problems and treats their chiropractic problems as well.
Some patients still need pharmaceuticals, and he works closely with a patient’s medical doctor if needed, he said.
Individuals who are more alternatively minded or maybe just tired of the traditional medical route are likely to appreciate his services, Hill said.
Hill leased 650 SF to open the office. He doesn’t have a staff yet, but hopes to add at least one support position in the next year and his fiancé, who is also a chiropractor, will join the practice in coming months.
Startup cost for the business was about $14,000. He hopes the business will be earning a profit in the next six months.
