Griffee Wins Deane Award
Carol Griffee was given the 2004 Ernie Deane Award for “valor in journalism” on April 8. The award has been presented annually since 1993 by the University of Arkansas’ Lemke Department of Journalism.
Griffee, 66, was a reporter for the Arkansas Gazette from 1973 to 1985. Since then, she has concentrated on book and magazine writing. Griffee is primarily known for her environmental, investigative and political coverage.
