Seigenthaler to Speak at UA Journalism Days
John Seigenthaler, founding editorial director at USA Today, will deliver the Roy Reed Lecture at 7 p.m. April 7 as part of the University of Arkansas’ annual “Journalism Days” event.
Seigenthaler’s lecture is titled “The Cracked Mirror: Reflections on the Media’s Reflection of Society.”
Seigenthaler is part of a three-member panel reviewing the work of former USA Today reporter Jack Kelley, who resigned in January after admitting he had invented a witness to corroborate a story he reported in Yugoslavia in 1999. Kelley, a foreign correspondent, was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in 2002.
The lecture, which will be held in Giffels Auditorium in the UA’s Old Main building, is free and open to the public.
