Law Firm Grows Quietly

Keisling Pieper & Scott PLC, a Fayetteville law firm, has quietly grown into a regional practice during the last year. John M. Scott, the latest partner added last fall, said the firm now has four lawyers and seven total employees. It’s added about one lawyer every six months and expects to expand again soon.

What’s driving the business, Scott said, is the firm’s emphasis on intellectual property law. It’s apparently the only local firm with three registered patent lawyers in partners Trent Keisling, Dave Pieper and senior counsel Robert Keegan.

Keisling Pieper & Scott recently negotiated out-of-court settlements on behalf of Brass Eagle Inc. in Bentonville and Hanna’s Candles Inc. in Fayetteville. It’s growing list of corporate clients also includes Wal-Mart Stores Inc. supplier R&R Packaging Inc. of Gravette and retailer Sutherland Lumber Co. of Kansas City.

The firm is on the second floor of the downtown Bank of America Plaza building, a locale that’s become a lawyer enclave.
