Funds at a Glance
Hugh Kincaid, Fayetteville Community Foundation’s president, said the new entity will give donors options for leaving their estates to more than just family and the tax man. He said the following will likely be some of its most popular uses:r
• Donor-advised funds allow the donor to designate exactly where their money will go.r
• Unrestricted or community action funds give the foundation the discretion to make charitable grants as the board sees fit.r
• Field of interest funds that benefit an area of interest the donor specifies, such as education or the arts.r
• Designated funds to make grants to specific organizations chosen by the donor, such as the Fayetteville Boys and Girls Club or Life Styles Inc.r
• Scholarship and award funds that allow the donor to provide assistance to students or colleges.
