Foundation Reaches $5 Million Goal Early

The Northwest Arkansas Community Foundation hoped to reach $5 million in endowed funds by the end of this year, but that goal was already met in September. r

“We’re feeling like the Foundation is growing really rapidly,” said Suzanne Ward, executive director of both Northwest Arkansas Community Foundation and the CommunityCare Foundation. “We started three new funds in past week and they’re coming from all over the region.”r

Connie Hendrix-Kral, director of donor relations for NWCF and CommunityCare, said investment recovery in the stock market helped increase the endowed funds, but several new funds added to the NWCF umbrella this year have beefed up the numbers.r

“You know things are going good when you have 64 or 65 funds,” Hendrix-Kral said. “We’ve doubled funds and we’ve doubled assets.”r
