Rogers Hotel Exceeds Expectations As Rooms Fill

We’re told it usually takes about 60 days for a hotel to have all of its rooms booked up, depending on the time of year it opens. Typically it takes 90 to 120 days.

And even though May is apparently one of the best months to open, the 248-suite Embassy Suites hotel in Rogers has exceeded expectations.

“Typically we have been full every Tuesday and Wednesday since we’ve opened,” said Robert Kisabeth, the hotel’s general manager. “Mondays and Thursdays we are at a 60 to 80 percent occupancy.”

But Kisabeth said his hotel isn’t hurting competitors too much either, since franchises such as Hampton Inn, Hilton Garden Inn and Suites and Amerisuites tell him they have not seen drops in occupancy.

Embassy Suites is 32 to 40 percent booked up on weekends. But during the week, when vendors to Wal-Mart make pilgrimages to pay their respects to the retail god, the hotel is averaging 150-200 full rooms per night.
