Shareholders Meeting Set Again For Bud Walton
Wal-Mart’s proxy also announced its annual shareholders meeting will be held June 6 at Bud Walton Arena on the University of Arkansas campus in Fayetteville. The official meeting starts at 8:45 a.m., but pre-game festivities begin at 7 a.m.
Shareholder proposals ask the company to adopt: a policy of nominating independent directors to compose two-thirds of its board, a policy that would require the firm’s appointed independent accountant to provide only audit or audit-related services to the company and not any other services, and a compensation policy that all future stock option grants to senior executives be performance-based.
Wal-Mart is asking shareholders to elect 13 directors to serve one-year terms on its board.
Shareholders of record at the close of business April 8 may vote at the meeting.
