Brass Eagle Inc. of Bentonville, the world’s leading maker of paintball guns and other extreme sports products, said on Jan. 31 that it had dropped its lawsuit alleging patent infringement against Odyssey Paintball Products LLC of Garland, Texas.

“Odyssey Paintball agreed to pay Brass Eagle an undisclosed sum of money and both parties have agreed to dismiss the suit,” according to a press release.

Brass Eagle filed the suit against Odyssey in March in U.S. District Court in South Carolina. Also named as defendants were Greenville, S.C.-based wholesale distributor Paintball Inc. and local paintball retailers Axis/1st Shot Paintball and 111 Paintball.

Brass Eagle argues that its patents cover its Viewloader Evolution and Viewloader Revolution electronic feeder loaders. But Odyssey’s recently introduced Halo Belt Drive active feed loader, the accused product in the suit, will remain on the market.
