Rogers Companies get Charged up About Buyout
Two longtime wholesale electric motor and parts suppliers in Rogers have joined forces.
Sierra Capital LLC, doing business as AMO Electric Supply Co., recently acquired Sallee Electric Inc. for an undisclosed sum. The resulting company will operate as AMO Electric Motor Service.
Bryan Oberlender, who along with wife Julie owns Sierra, said the deal should help his company’s revenue grow by 20 percent during the next year. AMO’s staff grew 12 percent with the buyout to 28.
Oberlender said the deal gives him a unique advantage in the market because of the companies’ reputations and the synergies their union creates.
Sallee, founded in 1958, is an electric motor and repair shop. AMO’s supply company, founded in 1961 and with additional locations in Fayetteville and Siloam Springs, sells electric parts and motor control equipment.
Both companies primarily served electrical contractors and industrial customers.
AMO will now handle sales and repairs of electric motors through 350 horse power (alternating current) models. One local application includes motors commonly found in conveyor belts.
“On the supply side, none of our competitors offer motors or motor repairs,” Oberlender said. “So it gives us an edge. The same is true on the motor side, where none of our competitors there give their customers access to supplies.
