Delta Systems Cooks Up $1.3 Million of New Orders
Bentonville automation and control leader Delta Systems Inc. reported on Aug. 16 that it received “significant” new orders during the second quarter. The new orders, primarily from the baking industry, during that period totaled $1.3 million.
According to a company statement, the new business helped Delta expand its relationships with a number of key existing customers, including Interstate Bakeries Corp., the largest U.S. bakery company, and The Earthgrains Co., the nation’s second largest.
“The automation solutions that Delta provides are uniquely positioned to increase speed and flexibility while reducing line changeover time, downtime and maintenance costs,” said Gerry Hurlow, Delta’s chairman and CEO.
Delta, traded publicly on the Canadian Venture Exchange, also recently landed Catalytica Energy Systems’ motion control system account.
Catalytica, based in Mountain View, Calif., designs and develops advanced products for more effective energy production. Its products include the Xonon Cool Combustion system that produces ultra-low emission levels for gas turbine power production.
Dave Sheridan, Catalytica’s director of manufacturing, said Delta’s SoftFlow software will enable his firm to scale up the manufacturing of its product to meet demands.
“We required a high speed yet reliable motion control system that would be flexible enough to accommodate our manufacturing needs and support future growth,” Sheridan said. “Delta was able to address those needs through SoftFlow and their high level of engineering expertise.”
