Boone Shows a Little Leg
Clint Boone, chief meteorologist for CBS-affiliate KFSM-TV, got caught on camera with his suit pants … well, off. And it’s not even time for October sweeps.
At 10:09 p.m. on Sept. 6, the station segued into a commercial by showing footage of Boone working in front of two computer monitors. Clad in a coat and tie, we assume he was trying to look busy for the upcoming weather forecast.
But the shot was probably not supposed to include a clear view of Boone’s bare legs, the left one of which was shaking nervously.
It’s fairly common for TV news types to dress their parts only from the waist up. But seldom do stations reveal that south of all that makeup and loud apparel are often blue jeans and sneakers or less.
Boone did have on a pair of khaki shorts, so he wasn’t doing a true impersonation of Chevy Chase’s old “I’m not wearing any pants” news set bit from “Saturday Night Live.” Suffice it to say, he was, however, less than dress formal.
We’re just fortunate that our readers don’t see the naked toes that poke out of Birkenstocks each summer around the Business Journal’s newsroom. Then again, maybe it’s the readers who are lucky.
