Arkansas State Bank Names Allen Chairman

Delbert E. “Pete” Allen Jr. has been named chairman of the board of Arkansas State Bancshares Inc. and Arkansas State Bank in Siloam Springs.
Art Morris, president and CEO of the bank, recently announced the appointment in a prepared statement to the media.
Allen has served as one of the bank’s directors since 1971. His business primarily involves ranching and business investments. His father, D.E. Allen Sr., served as the institution’s first chairman in 1960.
Delbert Allen retired from Allen Canning Co. in 1999.
The bank, available online at www.arkstatebank.com, has branches in Gentry and Siloam Springs and plans to open a new Tontitown branch in February 2002.
