New Graphics, Web Page for KHOG

KHOG/KHBS, Channels 40/49, recently changed its television graphics to conform with other Hearst Argyle stations nationwide.
With the change came development of a new Internet site: thehomenewschannel.com.
The site is far and away better than the Web pages operated by KHOG’s competition in Northwest Arkansas, KFSM, Channel 5 and NBC 24/51.
The KHOG site contains well-written news articles with additional information that sometimes didn’t make the station’s daily news broadcasts.
“Instead of having to force all the day’s news into 30 minutes, we can push people toward our Web page for a complete list,” said Mike Courington, assistant news director for KHOG/KHBS, the area’s ABC affiliate.
CBS affiliate KFSM and NBC 24/51 post local stories on what appear to be Web sites operated by their parent companies.
