Mercy Health System of Northwest Arkansas has yet to make plans for its 75-acre patch of donated pasture alongside Interstate 540, said Clark Ellison, St. Mary’s Hospital’s executive director of development. St. Mary’s, a non-profit organization, currently resides on about five acres.
About a year ago, consultants began working with the hospital’s departments to make a recommendation for development, Ellison said, but the issue has stalled at the local board level.
Estimated to be worth more than $5 million, the land was originally donated by Evelyn Rife of Rogers.
