Clients of now defunct Charger Inc. are beginning to receive some of Charger’s debts paid through its Chapter 7 bankruptcy filed Dec. 28, 1999.

The U.S. Bankruptcy Court of Western Arkansas in Fayetteville recently released 19 companies that filed general unsecured claims.

Five of those companies — BMI Inc., American Express, American Express Centurion Bank, Discover Financial Services and Wolverine Tube Inc. — filed timely claims and received 100 percent payment on their claims. BMI was paid $7,632.61 and Wolverine $2,036.86.

The others were paid just over 66 percent of their claim. Toyota Motor Credit Corp. was the most significant of the others, receiving $5,582 of its claim of $8,450.

Mike Bradley, the former president of Charger, had his wife’s 1999 Lexus GS 400, a 16-foot trailer and a 17-foot 1995 Champion boat listed as items of the estate that were abandoned.
