Skip McHardy, chef and co-owner of The Kitchen Table in Bentonville, said he plans to close the upscale restaurant the week of March 19.

McHardy has been offered a job as executive chef at Pinnacle Country Club in Rogers. He plans to begin working there at the end of April.

The Kitchen Table, at 208 N. Walton Blvd., has won accolades from publications across the state. McHardy and his wife, Pody, opened the New Orleans-style restaurant in the fall of 1998. McHardy is a native of New Orleans.

Initially, McHardy said, he planned to sell the restaurant, but now he will close it and liquidate the furnishings instead.

McHardy said he plans to change the menu at Pinnacle Country Club and offer three different levels of dining: the Mixed Grill, Terrace Room and Whitaker Room.

“I’m jazzed,” McHardy said of Pinnacle. “There are some talented people there. … They are really focused on making the dining experience out there and the catering experience positive.”
