Beverly Enterprises Names New CEO
On Feb. 1, Fort Smith’s Beverly Enterprises Inc. appointed William R. Floyd its new CEO. He replaces David R. Banks, who will serve as nonexecutive chairman of the board. Banks, who will be 64 next month, plans to retire from Beverly at the end of this year after 30 years of service, 12 of them as CEO.
“Beverly is in a position of relative financial strength and stability today,” Floyd said. “We’ve developed a three-year strategic growth plan that reflects aggressive performance goals, as well as a set of actions for achieving those objectives— a plan with measurable interim results, realistic time frames and clear accountabilities.”
Floyd, 56, will remain president and chief operating officer at Beverly. He has held senior management positions with industry leaders including PepsiCo, Pillsbury and Gillette. Most recently, Floyd was CEO of Choice Hotels International, the second-largest hotel franchiser in the world.
