Sports Station Halts Morning Show for Now
KREB, nicknamed “The Fan,” on 1190 AM in Rogers, has stopped airing “The Bo Mattingly Show” during its weekday morning drive-time slot.
The last time the show aired in the 7-9 a.m. slot was Oct. 27. Ever since, the local sports talk-formatted program has aired from 3-5 p.m. Mondays as a warmup to “Sports Talk,” which is hosted by Grant Hall, a sports writer for The Morning News, and Rick Schaffer, former University of Arkansas sports information director.
Mattingly, who is also a Fayetteville-based sports anchor for television station KHBS/KHOG, Channels 40/29, and a columnist for the Northwest Arkansas Times in Fayetteville, said the change was temporary.
“We’re trying to regroup and get our eggs in a row,” Mattingly said. “We plan to come back and hit with a bang again in about a month. Basically, because of all of my commitments and the fact KREB is a growing station, we just had to get organized so that we could move forward and make things better.”
KREB is one of three sister stations owned by Butler Broadcasting Co.
Butler also owns KBRS, 104.9 FM, “The X,” which features alternative rock, and KZAR, 1390 AM, “La Zeta,” which carries programming for the Hispanic community.
