rOwner Bob Hamman said the company’s role can be seen in radio stations because they often use businesses like SCA Promotions to support contests with large rewards.
rHamman’s business pays off the prize if it is won, and the station gives the promoter a percentage of the prize’s worth.
rPrize payoffs for such contests hinge on a contingent factor, and the prize might not be won. In fact, SCA bets that it won’t be won.
rRisks associated with each particular contest determines the fee. Sponsors hire SCA Promotions for fees ranging between $750 and $5 million, but Hamman said the average charge is about $2,500.

rA former professional bridge player, Hamman said he had been thinking about opening a location in the area for a few months.
