Center Point Lands Outlet Store
Ozark Center Point Place has landed a new tenant. U.S. Factory Outlets Inc., based in New York City, will occupy a 23,000 SF space in the 300,000-SF shopping center that was previously named Ozark Factory Outlet Stores.
Curtis Wray says the store plans to be open by August. Wray is property manager for Mathias Properties of Springdale, which owns the shopping center.
The store will carry a variety of merchandise from some 300 manufacturers.
Owners changed the shopping center’s name in June 1999 in an effort to upscale and get away from the “factory outlet” designation, but Wray says the shopping center will continue to have some outlet-type stores.
Currently, Mathias is working on an office park adjacent to Ozark Center Point Place which will expand his property there from the original 21-acre site to 70 acres. That project should be completed in 2001.
Mathias owns 12 shopping centers: eight in Springdale and one each in Bentonville, Lowell, Fayetteville and Russellville. He has two others under construction — in Lowell and Tulsa, Okla. — and plans to build one in Rogers that will be open by fall.
