The Blimpie’s Subs and Salads franchise in Fayetteville’s Oak Plaza Shopping Center is for sale. Advertisements have been running in local newspapers for several weeks now.
We couldn’t get any information about the sale from Blimpie’s corporate headquarters in Atlanta, and we couldn’t reach franchise owner Tim Peters.
Currently, there are five Blimpie’s stores in Northwest Arkansas: two in Fayetteville and one each in Springdale, Rogers and Garfield.
Event Group
to build kitchen
The Event Group plans to build a kitchen in the Dickson Street building that currently houses its business offices.
Shellie Morrison, owner of The Event Group, says the kitchen should be finished by April 1. The business had been renting the kitchen at Jose’s Mexican Restaurant and Bordino’s, an Italian restaurant in the same building.
Morrison says Joe Fennel, the owner of Jose’s, is a silent partner in The Event Group, and The Event Group has a different menu from Fennel’s restaurants.
The kitchen will take up about half of the small building that previously housed the Holsom Bread Thrift Store.
