Harps Humidor Smokin? the Competition
Not to be outdone by all the cigar stops opening in the area, Harps Food Stores has installed its first humidor to be able to sell premium cigars in its store at 2894 W. Sunset Ave. in Springdale.
“We’re testing it in that store,” says Art Bundy, general manager for Discount Distributors, a Harps subsidiary that supplies the stores with tobacco and food products. “It seems to be a trend right now. We’re going to give our customers a vote on it.
“It seems like the folks who work in the offices and play golf want to smoke cigars. We want their dreams to come true while shopping at Harps.”
The $3,000 humidor resembles a gun cabinet, says Bundy.
The most expensive cigars now sold at the Harps store are about $7 each.
