Carolyn Trumbo and Kimberly Hooker want to present their new retail venture as more than just a place to shop.

“We want to be more of a service-oriented store where people can come for help with the inside of their homes,” says Hooker, who has an interior design degree from the University of Arkansas. “We want to be more than just a gift store. We want to focus on interior design consultation as well.”

The shop will carry everything from home accessories to rugs, lamps and paintings. Some furniture — mostly chairs, end tables and other occasional pieces — will also be available. Morgan Scott plans to carry a few antique and original items.

Hooker describes the store style as “eclectic.” She adds, “It’s not contemporary. It’s not real traditional. It’s sort of a mix in between.”

The two also plan to go to market in Atlanta in July, and they hope to get customers involved in the purchasing process.

“If people come in looking for something specific, they can tell us what they are looking for and we will shop for them at market,” says Hooker.
