Cheeburger Cheeburger, Franchising Franchising
Charlie Anderson, owner of the Cheeburger Cheeburger franchise in Fayetteville plans to open a second location ? in Bentonville ? by fall.
Anderson ? who has franchising rights in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Missouri ? says more Cheeburger Cheeburgers are on the way, and Fort Smith is a likely spot for the next one.
The Fayetteville store, which opened in January in The Bakery Building on Dickson Street, was the 12th location for the company which is based in Sanibel Island, Fla. Three more Cheeburger Cheeburger restaurants have opened since then.
The Bentonville store will be located at 801 Walton Blvd. in a building that previously housed a Chinese restaurant. Anderson says renovations should be completed and the restaurant open in about 90 days.
Cheeburger Cheeburger is a cheeseburger restaurant franchise named after a Saturday Night Live skit. Anderson also owns JAB Inc. of Springdale, a company that remanufactures transmissions and differentials for tractor-trailer trucks.
Anderson says the 2,700-SF, full-service restaurant seats 100 people and is designed as a 1950s diner. The eatery is equipped with a milkshake bar. Beer and wine are also be served there.
Anderson says Cheeburger Cheeburger uses only 85 percent lean beef and quarter-pound hamburgers (after cooking) are the smallest available there. They’re “huge gourmet burgers,” he says.
The Fayetteville eatery is Anderson’s first restaurant.
