Stephens exec joins USA Truck board

Van Buren-based USA Truck announced May 6 that its board of directors have appointed James D. ("J.D.") Simpson III to the board.
Simpson is employed by Stephens Inc. as executive vice president and manager of corporate finance. He serves on the boards of several community and civic organizations.
"We are pleased to have J.D. joining our Board of Directors," Robert M. Powell, USA Truck Board Chairman, said in a statement. "His vast experience will offer a valuable new perspective as we continue to evaluate, implement and execute our long-term strategic objectives."
The long haul trucker reported April 22 total revenue in the first quarter of $105.63 million, up 12.9% over the same period in 2009. However, the company posted a $2.99 million loss in the first quarter of 2010, compared to a $1.9 million loss in the 2009 period.
