Rockline Industries Springdale Plant Reaches 7 Million Safe Work Hours
A wet wipe manufacturing plant in Springdale was recently honored for achieving 7 million hours of safe work.
Rockline Industries at 1583 E. Mountain Road is one of only 11 companies in Arkansas to mark this achievement since the state started recognizing workplace safety in 1976, according to a company news release.
The Occupational Safety and Health Division of Arkansas Department of Labor gave the award as part of its educational program to encourage workplace safety by honoring companies whose employees have accumulated a significant number of hours without a day away from work because of a work-related injury or illness.
The Springdale plant has more than 500 employees, and the most recent work-related injury that caused someone to miss a day of work happened in late 2010.
“We’re incredibly proud to be recognized for this achievement and congratulate our hard-working associates who always make safety a top priority at Rockline,” Randy Rudolph, president of Rockline Industries, said in the release. “This milestone couldn’t have been reached without the dedication of our associates, who continue to work to improve all of our manufacturing processes and provide the safest work environment possible.”
Contributing to its success, the company points to its behavioral-based safety program, which trains employees to observe work tasks and to provide immediate safety feedback to those involved. It also trains production team members to serve as safety coordinators who help improve training and communication at a smaller, teachable team level.
Rockline Industries, based in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, is one of the largest manufacturers of wet wipes and coffee filters and employs about 2,000 people worldwide.
