April Tax Revenue Falls 3.6 Percent
Sales tax receipts for April were down more than 3 percent in Arkansas compared to the same month last year.
Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration released the April numbers on its website June 23.
Arkansas cities and counties received a total of $93.3 million, down from $96.77 million.
Washington County received $3.8 million, about 1 percent more than in the same month last year. The county’s tax rate is 1.25 percent.
Benton County pulled in $3.27 million, a drop of over 7 percent. The county has a 1 percent tax rate.
Sebastian County received $2.29 million, a decrease of almost 6 percent. Tax rate is 1.25 percent.
Crawford County took in $940,591, an almost 3 percent decline. Its tax rate is 1.75 percent.
Pulaski County drew in $6.37 million, which was about 6 percent less than the same month last year, but still the most of any county. Tax rate is 1 percent.
Fayetteville gathered $3.41 million, which is a more than 4 percent increase from the same month in 2015.
Fayetteville and the following six cities all have a 2 percent tax rate.
Fort Smith received $3.25 million, a nearly 6 percent drop.
Rogers brought in $2.9 million, a more than 7 percent increase.
Springdale earned $2.11 million, an almost 3 percent drop.
Bentonville got $1.37 million, a nearly 27 decline.
Van Buren had $608,345, a less than 1 percent decrease.
Siloam Springs pulled in $584,870, a more than 2 percent increase.
Little Rock received $5.96 million, a nearly 3 percent drop, but still the most of any city. It has a 1.5 percent tax rate.
